Revcontent Partners with Ranker to Offer More Personalized Digital Content to Consumers

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - November 29, 2017) - Ranker, a leading digital media company for opinion-based, crowdsourced rankings on just about everything, and Revcontent, the world's largest content recommendation network, officially announced a data partnership that will deliver more personalized content to consumers that visit Revcontent media partner websites such as Newsweek, and Reuters. To do this, Revcontent will leverage Ranker's detailed audience insights in combination with Revcontent's machine learning and big data algorithms.

Ranker is best known for its popular crowdsourced voting platform, which enables more than 40 million monthly visitors to vote on virtually any topic -- from sports to food, to politics and pop culture and beyond. From these votes, the Ranker Insights platform collects millions of explicit data points each month about user tastes. This data enables Ranker to identify non-obvious relationships between things that people read about and interact with online. In powering this consumer site, Ranker has amassed a rich graph of data that will enable Revcontent to quickly expand the scope of their recommendation engine.

"Ranker will bring Revcontent the same deep insights that have propelled our recent growth to the hundreds of millions of users who Revcontent touches across the internet every month," said Clark Benson, Ranker Founder/CEO. "This partnership is a testament to the deep psychographic insights Ranker offers by collecting millions of data points monthly about our user preferences."

"Revcontent has been a leader in using machine learning and big data to create the best possible user experience for readers," said Revcontent Founder/CEO, John Lemp. "Leveraging Ranker's graph of over 110 million connections between entities into Revcontent's proprietary algorithms, allows us to offer even deeper personalization and customization to users by identifying relevant insights about topics that people are reading about online. Users will be delivered content that is more specific to their interests than ever before."

Ranker has recently started to productize its data, available at RankerInsights, to serve the entertainment and media industries. This partnership is Ranker's first foray into the content recommendation space, offering Revcontent an exclusive competitive advantage through access to Ranker's proprietary data set. This psychographic data will assist Revcontent in effectively reaching and converting more customers.

The joint effort between Ranker and Revcontent rolled out in November.
