Digital Deck(TM) Announces New Remote Control Design

New Media Connector Remote Control Supports Advanced Software Features and Enhances Usability for Digital Deck Customers

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/05/06 -- 2006 INTERNATIONAL CES, BOOTH 26610 -- Digital Deck today announces the selection of Universal Electronics(TM) Inc. as the supplier for their new Media Connector Remote Control. This new remote control is being demonstrated in the Digital Deck booth at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show along with their new Media Connector hardware and software products designed to improve interoperability with consumer electronics devices and home networked media products.

The new Digital Deck Media Connector Remote Control offers several design and usability improvements:

* Dedicated buttons take the user right to their recorded television programs, digital music and digital photos.

* Improved ergonomics position the trick-play (DVR, FF/REW, etc.) controls near the middle of the remote. Tapered design allows for intuitive control and alignment in dark environments.

* Universal, multi-device design will permit direct control of three devices -- the Media Connector hardware, a television and stereo.

Digital Deck will continue to control other connected devices throughout the house using its Media Connector Software with their existing Universal Electronics license, allowing access to over 200,000 infrared control codes.

"We're pleased to be the first U.S. customer for this new remote," said Ted Malone, Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Marketing, Digital Deck Inc. "This device completes the design of our new Media Connector hardware and really improves usability for our customers."

Delivering all of your home entertainment such as live TV, music, video and recording capabilities to any connected room is Digital Deck's strength, allowing complete access, flexibility and control to and from any "wired" room in the house. Support for connection of legacy devices, including DVD players, DVD changers, VCRs, and more is a unique advantage of this approach.

"We are delighted to be expanding our relationship with Digital Deck," said Paul Arling, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Electronics. "We are thrilled to be introducing this exciting new remote as part of a new category of networked home entertainment."

Easy to install, the Digital Deck Media Connector Software streams video to/from the Media Connector hardware over a home Ethernet network -- from any A/V source: live TV from cable or satellite boxes, DVD players and VCRs, or a TV or stereo in any other room. Existing consumer electronics devices in the consumer's system become part of a personal entertainment network via standard AV cables connected to AV inputs and outputs on the Media Connector.
